On Your Mark, Get Set, Cricket Dash!
Get ready for CAPT's annual Fun Run, the CRICKET DASH! On Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Crestwood Elementary, all students have a chance to participate in the fun! Our goal is to make this one of the only major fundraisers of the year. There is NOTHING TO SELL and all the money earned goes directly to our school. To accomplish this, we NEED YOUR HELP!
What do students do for the Cricket Dash?
What do students do for the Cricket Dash?
Use the online pledge system and/or the pledge envelope to collect sponsors.
Run/walk a looped track on the field for 20 minutes during the school day. Each session of the Cricket Dash takes 1 hour, with time to get on the field, warm up, run, cool down and have a post-race snack.
Have a ton of fun, whether or not they have pledges.

Help your student get sponsors before the big day.
Volunteer at the Cricket Dash. (Sign Up HERE!)
Dress your student appropriately for running and the weather the day of the Cricket Dash.
Support your students with words of encouragement and by cheering from the sideline if you are able to attend.
Help your student collect pledges and thank their sponsors after the Cricket Dash.

An understanding of the fun and importance of exercise, an appreciation of teamwork, and a strong sense of unity.
A FREE t-shirt and healthy snack on Cricket Dash day.
A chance to earn fantastic school-wide prizes.
What about pledges?

Sponsors can pledge an amount per lap or a set amount.
CAPT is a 501(3)c organization and donations are tax-deductible. Online donors receive an email receipt. For cash donations less than $250, a cleared check image serves as a receipt.
If your family prefers not to solicit pledges, please consider making a donation to CAPT.

A “Total Laps Ran” sheet indicating how many laps your student ran will come home on race day.
Students should collect outstanding pledges, with checks payable to CAPT. Online pledges are automatically taken.
Turn in cash or check pledges in the pledge envelope by October 17, 2024.

Warm ups: 12:45 pm - 1 pm
Cricket Dash: 1 pm - 1:30 pm
Transition Back to Class: 1:30 pm
4K*, 5-Kindergarden, 1st, 2nd Graders
4K*, 5-Kindergarden, 1st, 2nd Graders
Warm ups: 2 pm - 2:15 pm
Cricket Dash: 2:15 pm - 2:45 pm
Transition Back to Class: 2:45 pm
*Families of 4K students who wish to participate would need to return to the Crestwood lower field and stay for the duration of the run.

There are still some event committees that could use volunteers. Without event committees, these events will not be able to happen this year. If you value one of these events, please sign up to help organize it! CAPT board members will be assisting all event committees.
