Join us for our final "restaurant" fundraiser of the year, at Portillo's! Psst, there will be another share night in May, something a little sweeter!

Where: Portillo's, 7230 W Towne Way, Madison
When: Tuesday, April 12th (5-8pm)
CAPT is excited to announce the return of Explore Science Night, which will be held in a special outdoor format! This event is designed to get students excited about science through demonstrations from local science experts, as well as having the opportunity to create and present their own science project.
Please join us Tuesday, April 26 @ 6:00-7:30pm (rain date Thursday, April 28th). MMSD guidance on masking will be followed at this event. Please consult the symptom screener prior to attendance.
To make this amazing event a reality we need volunteers to help set up prior to the event and tear down afterwards, and donations of singly-packaged snacks or fruit. See how you can help, or contact Melanie Ivancic (melivancic@gmail.com) with any questions. For transportation assistance please contact Jenni Onken (jonken2@madison.k12.wi.us).
A flyer with more information will come home soon in your child's backpack, and will also include a sign up form if your child(ren) would like to participate with a poster or presentation (due Wed Apr 15th to your child's teacher or the main office). Mr. Cushman will point students to resources during LMC time, but please note this is an extra opportunity for students sponsored by CAPT and in general not a classroom project.
On May 14th at Crestwood, we will be attempting our first (in recent history) outside school carnival, The Crestwood Caper, "In Full Bloom." There will be an obstacle course, an array of carnival games, bake sale and cake raffle, food trucks, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, and much more!
For this very special in-person (yay!) event, we need your help. Not only is the Caper one of our most beloved events, but it's also the biggest fundraiser—100% of the funds raised go back to benefit Crestwood. Parent volunteers are absolutely essential, so please lend a hand and donate an hour or more of your time, whether it's setting up or manning a booth at the event, contributing to the bake sale or auction, or helping to coordinate ahead of time.
>>CLICK HERE to view the signup for a full breakdown of roles. There are still many opportunities to help, we cannot do this without you!
Questions? Contact one of the Caper coordinators. Karen Gibson: karengibson.studio@gmail.com, Katy Sprinkel Morreau: katy.sprinkel@gmail.com, Chelsey Green: chelseymariegreen@gmail.com

Do you have a green thumb and could donate plants or assist with garden planning? Do you crochet cozy blankets and have one to spare? Do you own a little cabin in the woods and could donate a weekend? Extra gift cards lying around that you won't use? The 2022 Caper Silent Auction will open online May 6th and run until May 15th and we are looking for a wide array of goodies to make the auction the best one yet!
Please email amyirving@crestwoodcapt.us if you have something you'd like to donate. THANK YOU!
Accelerated Clinical Laboratories will be providing testing services at 14 sites beginning Monday, March 21.
Next week, testing hours will be 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at all 14 sites. Rapid antigen and PCR testing will be available to MMSD students, staff, and volunteers as well as parents/guardians or household members involved in pick up or drop off of a student. The registration process for a test is unchanged; register in advance online to reduce wait times (registration assistance is also available on site).
During Spring Break (Monday, March 28 through Sunday, April 3), four sites will provide testing services from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Locations include Memorial High School, Van Hise/Hamilton, East High School, and Sennett/LaFollette. As a reminder, home rapid antigen tests are not accepted for a symptomatic student to return to school; a rapid antigen test must be obtained through a school testing site or community testing locations.
We encourage you to visit MMSD's Covid Testing Web Page for continued updates as we expand testing sites after spring break.
